Introduction
On a Mac you choose between a player from the Mac App Store — with tidy categories and a programme guide — and VLC, the free all-round player that also opens M3U playlists. With AirPlay or an HDMI adapter you can then watch just as easily on your TV.
What you need
- MacBook, iMac or Mac mini with a recent macOS version
- Your TiviCode M3U link or Xtream Codes details
- Optional: Apple TV, AirPlay TV or USB-C to HDMI adapter
Step by step

Step 1
Choose your player
Search the Mac App Store for an IPTV player with Xtream Codes, or download VLC from videolan.org.

Gatekeeper warning? Open the app via System Settings → Privacy & Security, only if it comes from an official source.
- 03
Step 3
Add your details
Player: choose Xtream Codes and enter the server URL, username and password. VLC: File → Open Network and paste your M3U link.

Use the categories in the player, or the playlist in VLC (Cmd + L).
- 05
Step 5
Stream to your TV
Click Screen Mirroring in the menu bar and choose your Apple TV or AirPlay TV.
Troubleshooting
Problem: Picture without sound via AirPlay
Solution: In System Settings → Sound, choose your Apple TV or TV as the output device.
Problem: Player won't open on an Apple silicon Mac
Solution: Update the app to the latest version or try VLC, which runs natively on Apple silicon.
